Stop Calls After Bankruptcy

Served with a Lawsuit After Bankruptcy? To stop calls after bankruptcy, write a letter to the collector. Bankruptcy wipes out the debts you had before your filing date.

Companies cannot collect after they learn you filed bankruptcy. Collectors cannot call you after they get your letter asking to be left alone.

Creditors cannot sell your old accounts to debt buyers or collectors after bankruptcy. If you don’t know a caller’s address, wait for them to call you again. Do not call them back. When they call, just give your Oregon bankruptcy court case number and nicely ask to be left alone.
